Bold, beautiful flavours for premium winemakers.

our story

Zebra Vineyards offer only ultra-premium pinot noir grapes to wineries across New Zealand and Australia.

Our grapes have been used in award-winning and premium wines, including single vineyard designate wines from Craggy Range, Mt. Difficulty and Grant Taylor’s Valli.

These stylised interactive maps present Zebra's interpretation of this unique subregion's topography and our place within it. The place we live, work and play - the place we are proud to call home. Click through on the location labels to discover in more intimate detail.

Our Journey

Part of the former Bendigo Station, an historic high-country sheep station (home to the world-famous 'Shrek', who eluded the muster for six years) Zebra Vineyards produce from two world-class blocks in the pinot noir dominant and most southern wine region of the world - Central Otago.  In 2003 we planted our first vines and developed our blocks with a goal of becoming a supplier of consistently exceptional fruit.

Over 15 years later, our grapes contribute to the success of some of New Zealand and Australia's most lauded, award-winning wines.

Our Vision

We’re in love with the enveloping, rugged beauty of this region and we bring that love to every aspect of viticulture at Zebra. We invest in the best resources and expert staff to ensure the health and vitality of our vineyard, so ultimately only the finest grapes are received by our winemaking partners.

Our vines have been producing superior pinot noir grapes since 2006 and as can be expected, their value and character are only strengthening with age. With each harvest comes a new chapter and we’re continuing our earnest work to keep the story of the Central Otago Wine Region firmly on the map.

Individual commitment. Unified effort

The quality of the grapes is excellent and very consistent. Craig has amazing attention to detail and knows just what he needs to do to get the best result for each parcel of fruit.

The 2017-18 growing season was marked by unseasonably hot weather. This can lead to overripe fruit but Craig and his team at Zebra managed the blocks and cropping levels extremely well. I was extremely happy with overall quality across all clones.
